Update on murder of John Froehlich

UPDATED: On 9-15-09, Gabriel Carnell and Tammy Worley were filed on by the Harris County Sheriff's Office Homicide Unit for the Capital Murder of John Froehlich. The investigation showed that Carnell and Worley attempted to sell Mr. Froehlich fake drugs, when Froehlich attempted to leave, he was shot by Carnell. Worley knew of the plan and was filed on for Capital Murder as well. ******************************************** NEXT OF KIN HAS NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. August 26, 2009 at approximately 3:00 a.m., a Harris County Sheriff's Deputy was on patrol in the area of Bammel North Houston and State Highway 249 attempting to locate illegal drug activity. The Deputy observed what he believed to be a drug deal and started following a vehicle, eventually attempting to stop the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle a maroon Chevy Impala fled southbound on State Highway 249, eventually stopping the vehicle and fleeing. The Deputy returned to the area of the beginning of the pursuit and was advised there was a male who was dead in the southbound lanes of State Highway 249. Sheriff's Homicide Investigator's were called to the scene and found Mr. Froehlich may have been attempting to buy drugs from a Black male and at some point an argument began. Mr. Froehlich attempted to leave and was shot by the Black male. The Black male suspect fled the scene in a green Chevrolet Camaro, unknown year model.
