Panthers upsets district front runner

The Kingwood Park Panthers defeated defending district champions CE King (1-0) on Jan. 29, in the district opener. Juan Castillo scored the only goal on a free kick sent by Isaiah Noriega late in the second half. The defense held CE King to only 5 shots on goal.

The Panthers remained undefeated through last week, defeating Goose Creek Memorial (7-0) and Crosby (5-0) by wide margins.

This week Kingwood Park will challenge North Forest on Tuesday, Feb. 9 and Galena Park on Friday Feb. 12.
