Cubmaster Patrick Snyder led parents and youth from Cub Scout Pack 1292, sponsored by Foster Elementary PTA , with their den chief from Troop 1377, sponsored by Kingwood United Methodist Church, to work in the rain to begin the annual “Scouting for Food” event.

Scouting for Food is a Sam Houston Area Council service project to care for people in local communities who are hungry and in need. In partnership with the Houston Food Bank and "Souper Bowl of Caring," the project began Saturday, Jan. 28 as Scouts distribute door hangers in their neighborhoods to announce the upcoming food drive. Scouts returned the following Saturday,  Feb. 3 to pick up and deliver donations to their local food banks and pantries. Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts promise "to help other people at all times." To these youth, parents and leaders we say, “Thanks for helping, even in the rain.”
