Parker Fortenberry got to play policeman for a day during a visit with deputies.

On April 30, Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman’s office had a surprise visit from 8-year-old Parker Fortenberry. Parker was diagnosed with a brain tumor as an infant and is legally blind. He is currently receiving radiation and the tumor is shrinking, but will never completely go away.

Parker emulates police officers and firefighters, saying that they are his heroes. He is able to recite the statutory warning from memory! Parker had the opportunity to “arrest” a deputy and place him in a jail cell and was able to sit in the driver’s seat of a patrol vehicle.

Parker’s mother stated that he is her hero and he is what keeps her going every day.

“It was an honor meeting Parker today,” said Herman. “Parker is our hero and we will keep him and his family in our prayers. Keep up the good fight! We got your back!”
