Balmoral in Humble has been named one of the 50 top-selling master-planned communities in the nation in recently released reports, placing it at No. 47. The crystal-clear lagoon in Balmoral drove home sales, says David Jarvis with John Burns Real Estate Consulting.

 

LAND TEJAS AMONG NATION’S TOP-SELLING
Following a year that saw overall home sales catapult 85 percent, three Land Tejas communities have been included on the 2018 top-selling master-planned communities list released recently by Robert Charles Lesser & Co. Balmoral in Humble earned the No. 42 spot with 334 homes sold in 2018. The community -- which saw the opening of the first crystal-clear lagoon in Texas last year -- opened for home sales in 2017, selling 75 that first year for a year-over-year increase of 345 percent. Harmony in Spring placed No. 28 on the annual report, with home sales increasing 94 percent. Landing at No. 43 on the RCLCO list was Lago Mar in Texas City. Celebrating its grand opening in 2017, the community saw 321 home sales in 2018 versus 137 the previous year, an increase of 134 percent.

MCCRADY ELECTED TO SEDC BOARD
The Southern Economic Development Council has announced that Frank McCrady, president and CEO of the East Montgomery County Improvement District, has been elected secretary/treasurer of the association’s board of directors. Through this position, McCrady will have a leadership role on the board’s executive committee and will help carry out the association’s program of work for 2019.

CHRISTIAN BROTHERS OPENS IN KINGWOOD
Residents of Kingwood now have a great option for ethical auto repair right in their neighborhood with the opening of the new  Kingwood Christian Brothers Automotive in December. The 28th CBA in the Houston area, the new auto repair shop is the first for owner Brad West and is located at  1322 Northpark Drive. West brings over a decade of automotive experience to his Kingwood store. After years in the industry, he wanted to build his own business that was honest, ethical and driven by his faith, so he turned to CBA. Inspired by the franchise’s dedication to servitude, he and wife Lara chose to open their own shop to serve the community through quality car care.West plans to utilize his shop’s resources to make a lasting impact on Kingwood and the surrounding communities. Hoping to build a team capable of meeting and exceeding the community’s needs, he looks forward to finding areas where they can be of service. He also hopes to partner with local organizations to amplify the impact they have on those in need in the community.
