Summer Creek

Based upon input provided through parent meetings and surveys, along with staff and student surveys, Summer Creek High School has developed a unique schedule for students and staff that will be in effect from March 19 through the end of this school year. Here are a few highlights of the new schedule:

  • School will begin at 7 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m. everyday. 
  • Educational opportunities will be provided for students from 1 to 2:30 p.m. everyday. These will include tutorials, AP exam review, SAT/PSAT preparation, club meetings, TSI Testing (for appropriate level of college course work), small group counseling, and extracurricular activities.
  • School hours remain consistent each day. No late arrival on Thursdays and Saturday School will be discontinued.
  • 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th periods will be Monday/Wednesday/Friday, and 3rd, 6th, and 7th periods will be Tuesday/Thursday (see schedule below).
  • Courses remain consistent for students and teachers throughout this school year while adding 15 minutes to MWF classes and 20 minutes to TTH classes. 
  • Grab and Go Lunch will be available everyday. 
  • Buses will be available to transport students who do not stay on campus beyond 12:30 p.m., as well as students who remain on campus for tutoring or other activities.

 

Kingwood

Based upon input provided through parent, student, and faculty surveys, and discussions with the Site Based Decision Making Committee, Kingwood High School has developed a schedule for students and staff that will be in effect from March 19 through the end of this school year. Here are a few highlights of the schedule:

  • School will begin at 9:25 a.m. and end at 2:39 p.m. every day. School hours remain consistent each day.
  • Tutoring will be offered every day from 7 to 9:20 a.m.
  • 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th periods will be Monday/Wednesday/Friday, and 3rd, 6th, and 7th periods will be Tuesday/Thursday (see schedule below).
  • Courses remain consistent for students and teachers throughout this school year. Same number of minutes per class as we had while at the Summer Creek campus.
  • One Lunch will return! As in the past, this is an opportunity to attend tutoring, meet with clubs, study, visit with friends or take care of school business.
