Mia Emhhoff, of Kingwood, and her family loved attending the annual Kingwood Family Street Dance at Alspaugh’s Ace Hardware Saturday, June 30.

Rick Alspaugh and his team cook a huge feast and pay for music at the event. This year, donations went to Have Shears Will Travel, a ministry who assists veterans, the homeless and others who may not have access to hair care services. Two great celebrations are planned for Wednesday night! Kingwood Town Center will celebrate Independence Day, Wednesday, July 4, from 2-9 p.m. Enjoy host Mark Linabury, live music, craft and food booths, and a Kids Zone. At 6 p.m., “That 70’s Thing” will entertain with a fun-filled performance of fabulous sounds from the ‘70s with a big band influence. You can also celebrate Independence Day with the family at Kings Harbor Wednesday, July 4. Enjoy a concert by TC & The Cannonballs beginning at 7 p.m. and a fireworks spectacular off of the pier at 9:30 p.m. (weather permitting). Grab blankets and lawn chairs for this fun event. Park in the garage on the day of the event as surface parking will be unavailable and carpooling and ride sharing, such as Uber, is highly encouraged. Photo by Bruce Olson
