Judy Soto was born June 24, 1937, in Brookhaven, MS, and died February 19, 2018, in Huffman, TX.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Alzada Lambert; father, Andrew Melvin Lambert; sisters: Doris Lambert, Kathryn Brown, Bertha Lambert, and Ethel Carraway; and brothers, Matthew and Thomas Lambert.
She is survived by her sister, Ida Alexander of Houston, TX; brothers: Frank Lambert of Deepwater, MO; Harry Lambert of Houston, TX; and Larry Lambert of Ellensburg, WA; and children: Greta Lambert of Channelview, TX; Greg Schwalbach of Atascocita, TX; Guy Mergist of Houston, TX; Gina Soto of Huffman, TX; and Jesse Soto, of Huffman, TX; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Judy spent some time in Georgia, Louisiana, and California before making her home in Houston in 1971. She moved to Huffman in 2004 and retired from a career in retail in 2014.
Judy was a beloved mother, and “MiMi” to her grandchildren. She most enjoyed spending time with her family, and rarely lost to any of them in a game of Rummy. She will be deeply missed by the many who loved her.
A memorial service will be held March 3, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Lake Houston United Methodist Church in Huffman.
