Name: Patsy Oliver
Position: Managing Editor

Patsy Oliver joined The Tribune at the first "round the dinner table" meeting, contributing to the first edition on Feb. 7, 2007.

"I am thrilled to be a part of the birth of a newspaper and doubly excited that this paper and its staff are right here in the community we cover."

Patsy has lived in Harris County, Texas, all her life. She was born in Pasadena, raised in Channelview, lived in North Shore for 10 years, then moved to Atascocita in 1998.

Patsy graduated from Channelview High School in 1984 and then studied at the University of Houston and at San Jacinto College.

She has three children, two sons and a daughter, who attended, or still attend, Humble ISD schools.

She lives in Atascocita with her Cute Little German Mother. "My parents met when my dad was in the Army in Berlin. My mom has lived here since she came over and married my dad in 1956. They were such great parents. Although we lost Dad in 2003, I still have my Cute Little German Mother and three fantastic kids... so much to be grateful for."

She has a cat, Toby, also known as "be quiet," and a dog, "Lucy," who was a rescue and is equally as vocal as her feline companion, although Toby would rather she didn't live there.

Patsy served as managing editor of the Tribune Newspapers for more than a year, coming from the same position held at another local newspaper for two years.

She has a strong sales background and loves working with people to meet their needs -- many call her the 'people pleaser.' Patsy says that advertising is definitely not "one size fits all" -- and strives to meet the needs of every client, from mom and pop shops to large corporations.

"I feel like you are known by the reputation you build, and if it is not a good one, you are the only one to blame. I take that very seriously."
