Biography:

Stephen Goff accepted the position of sports editor for The Tribune in March, 2009. Goff, a 1998 Kingwood High School graduate, originally joined the team as a sports correspondent in October, 2008, covering local sporting events and constructing relevant articles for publication.
The 2002 Texas Christian University graduate participated on the Kingwood High School cross country/track and field team from 1994-98. Goff was a two-year cross country and two-year track and field lettermen winner and member of two UIL State Championship (1996, 1997) teams and one National Championship (1996) team for the Mustangs.
While at TCU, he ran cross country/track and field for Dan Waters, the current Texas A&M cross country coach, from 1998-02. Goff's primary events included the 1,500, 5,000 and 10,000 meters. He earned four letters and was a member of two indoor and two outdoor Western Athletic Conference (WAC) championship teams.
Goff received his MBA-Marketing from the University of St. Thomas, Houston in July, 2004. His professional sports background includes a marketing internship with the Houston Texans in 2002 and the event coordinator of NCAA Division III athletics at Trinity University from 2004-05.
Since becoming a sports journalist for The Tribune, Goff has written a wide variety of articles ranging from local sporting to community-related events. Also, he writes and conducts interviews with current and former Houston Astros players and personnel as the Houston Astros Examiner for www.examiner.com/houston.
