Humble ISD hosted a signing day event on Feb. 7 to recognize 42 athletes who signed letters of intent to participate in college athletics. The event was held at The Overlook Event Center located at 20114 Pinehurst Drive in Atascocita.

Great job Summer Creek High School Golf team! They have a first place team of, from left: Cecilia Weatherford, Alee Garcia, Addison Young, Stevy Grimes and Abigail Harrison. Weatherford was named first place individual and Garcia was named fourth place individual while Grimes won fifth place individual.

Nursing a tenuous one-game lead in District 21-5A heading into this week, the Humble Wildcats came into last Tuesday night’s showdown with Crosby facing their biggest week of the season.

Now, they are outright District 21-5A champions.

Against the visiting Crosby Cougars last Tuesday night, the Wildcats looked to clinch a share of the district title with a win, and through the first half, it looked like much the same game that it was in Crosby where Humble won easily.

On Friday night, the Humble Wildcats boys’ basketball team faced its final hurdle before a huge matchup this coming week, a game which could decide the district title.

Though a tough Porter Spartans team pushed Humble deep into the fourth quarter, the Wildcats prevailed 75-61 to move on to their biggest game of the year.
