Congratulations to all of the teenagers across the community who have just closed the book on their senior year! Hats have been tossed, hugs have been given and promises to stay in touch exchanged. It’s June, and our area high schools have just completed the graduation of the Class of 2017.

Memorial Hermann begins construction on new patient tower

The ceremonial spade of dirt has been turned, the construction crews and their equipment are in place and, during the next 18 months, Memorial Hermann Northeast’s new state-of-the-art patient tower will rise above the Humble campus.

Friday, May 19, was a day full of big smiles, cheers and happy tears as the Humble ISD Education Foundation’s ‘Prize Posse’ team delivered more than $307,000 in grants to Humble ISD educators.

Dog park draws crowd of protesters

Over 30 concerned residents attended the Kingwood Service Association (KSA) Parks Meeting June 1 and voiced their concerns over a rumor that had gone viral on local internet sites and as a flyer distributed in parts of Kingwood. The rumor and flyer stated that there was serious consideration by KSA to turn the Creekwood Nature Reserve near Bear Branch Village into a dog park. The unsigned flyer described the action as putting a strip mine in Kingwood’s midst.

Congressman Ted Poe observes National Police Week
Congressman Ted Poe listed the brutal statistics.
“There were 135 peace officers killed last year in the United States,” Poe told a group gathered for the annual North Houston Police Memorial Ceremony held May 16 at the Humble Civic Center.
