The Humble City Council presented several recognition awards for the Christmas parade and for Christmas lighting at the Council’s Jan. 12 meeting. The awards were presented by Gwen Willis, chair of the beautification committee and a broker at Key Realtors, Inc.

The Harris County Flood Control District's Flood Watch team continues to monitor rainfall trends, as well as measured rainfall amounts and water levels in bayous and creeks. Stormwater levels in most bayous continue to fall with a midday break in the rain, following widespread rain totals of between 2-7 inches over the last 12 hours across all but far southeast Harris County.
City of Houston Flood Update - Barricades, Roadways and Rescues

The City of Houston is advising residents to avoid travel if possible today. The City expects significant street flooding to persist throughout the day. Area waterways continue to swell and multiple underpasses remain underwater. The National Weather Service says that another line of thunderstorms will begin approaching Houston this afternoon, resulting in additional rainfall from 1-3" in the afternoon. This will likely cause rises in area bayous, streams and creeks, as well as roadway flooding.

The Harris County Flood Control District's Flood Watch team is actively monitoring rainfall trends, as well as measured rainfall amounts and water levels in bayous and creeks. Over the past 12 hours, widespread rainfall across most of Harris County has totaled 3-6 inches in the Brays Bayou watershed, 2.5-6 inches in the Buffalo Bayou watershed; 2-5.5 inches in the Greens Bayou watershed; and 2-6 inches in the White Oak Bayou watershed.
Former Kingwood hospital executive indicted

A federal grand jury in Dallas has indicted 21 individuals – including a former Kingwood hospital executive – allegedly involved in a massive kickback scheme, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Alan Beauchamp, who was administrator from 1991 to 1996 at Kingwood Plaza Hospital in Kingwood when it was owned by MidAmerica Healthcare, was a consultant to the Forest Park Medical Center chain and helped run the chain’s affiliated management company. He was bought out in 2015.
