Project Mammogram offers peace of mind, second chance to those facing breast cancer

Project Mammogram is a program sponsored by the Northeast Hospital Foundation offering free mammograms and appropriate follow-up care to qualifying area women and men. It also provides breast exams, education, ultrasounds, biopsies and other related services.

Clean up ongoing after Imelda

It was a terrible flashback for many when parts of the Lake Houston area went underwater three weeks ago. Hurricane Harvey decimated the community in August of 2017, leaving hundreds of homes destroyed by floodwater.

The significant rain event last May brought the community to a drenched standstill with hundreds of homes being flooded, many in the Elm Grove and Woodland Hills areas that had never flooded before.

Dave Martin, Sam Cleveland seek District E Council seat

Incumbent Dave Martin will face challenger Sam Cleveland in the race for Houston City Council District E, a peculiarly configured area which includes Kingwood in northeast Harris County, Clear Lake in southeast Harris County, and the Houston Ship Channel.

Early voting begins Oct. 21. Election day is Nov. 5.
