Humble ISD wins Outstanding School Board in Texas

The Humble ISD School Board was announced as the best school board in Texas at the 2018 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards and won a $25,000 award for the district. There are more than 1,000 school boards in Texas.

KSA sports field issues dominate parks meeting

For the first time since Hurricane Harvey, the Kingwood Service Association (KSA) Parks Committee focused on issues other than flood recovery at its May 3 meeting. Instead it was dominated by issues related to KSA’s leased athletic fields.

Humble City Council’s unopposed incumbents sworn in

Even though the May 5 general city election was canceled because there were no candidates running against the incumbents for city council positions 3, 4 and 5, those incumbents are still required to be reinstalled into their respective elected positions.

Voters approve $575 million school bond

The Humble ISD bond issue passed overwhelmingly May 5. The issuance of $575 million in bonds “for the construction, acquisition, and equipment of school buildings and the purchase of sites for school buildings” was approved by a 74 percent majority of voters.
