Falcons baseball racks up awards

Coming off a season where the Huffman-Hargrave Falcons captured the 23-4A district championship and advanced a round in the playoffs, the Falcons received a number of honors in the 23-4A All-District awards.

Memorial Hermann Northeast among highest rated in state

Washing hands is a big deal at Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital.

Everybody – clinical people, maintenance people, volunteers – washes their hands on the way into a patient room and then wash their hands again on the way out.

The Humble ISD board of trustees called a special June 20 board meeting to discuss filling of the Position 6 seat vacated by Heath Rushing earlier this year. Rushing resigned April 11 (with an effective date of May 9), two full months after he left his role at Memorial Hermann Northeast on February 6 to take on the CEO position at Memorial Hermann Cypress and Katy hospitals.

Former Kingwood resident now a federal fugitive, sought by FBI

FBI special agents need the public’s help to capture a federal fugitive who has been charged and sentenced in absentia for his role in a $16 million loan fraud scheme.  Beginning today, Clear Channel Outdoor digital billboards will feature a photograph of 53 year-old Oscar Cantalicio Ortiz and advertise a $5,000 reward offered by Crime Stoppers of Houston in the case across the greater Houston area.

BARC participating in National No-Kill "Just One Day" event on Sunday, June 11

On Sunday, June 11, BARC Animal Shelter and Adoptions will join numerous animal shelters and organizations across the U.S. for the national no kill “Just One Day” event. BARC will not euthanize any animals that can be saved.
