Economic outlook speakers give positive forecast

When Economist Patrick Jankowski spoke a year ago at Partnership Lake Houston’s annual economic outlook luncheon, it was a virtual lunch-in and Jankowski ended his prognostication about the upcoming economic year hoping, if he were invited back, that the partnership would see him in person.

Humble ISD trustees call for bond election on May 7

The Humble ISD Board of Trustees unanimously called for a bond election on May 7 that would fund 19 projects plus additional technology and career and technical education projects at a cost of $775 million.

Bond issue will raise taxes says Martin

At the Feb. 16 Kingwood Super Neighborhood Council (SNC) Meeting, Marques Holmes, Humble Independent School District’s new SNC representative, announced the school district had just approved its anticipated bond proposal to be put before the taxpayers for approval in the district’s May 7 election. The bond proposal’s impact on taxes became the focus of the rest of the meeting.

Humble City Council holds hearing for drainage, announces election

On Feb. 10, the Humble City Council held a public hearing to discuss the use of federal grant dollars to be allocated from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 as a part of the Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (CLFRF) program. There are two highly-needed projects that include a proposed $716,000 drainage improvement project and a $2.8 million Country Village project from Wilson Road to east of Country Village.
