Summer Creek rolled in all phases of the game in defeating Kingwood, 34-7, on Friday at Turner Stadium. Bulldogs’ quarterback John Holcombe threw for 185 yards and two touchdowns, and was one of two rushers to surpass 100 yards in a dominating performance over the Mustangs.
Kingwood Dance Theatre presents ‘The Nutcracker Ballet’

“The Nutcracker Ballet,” a familiar holiday tradition, will be presented in the Atascocita High School Theatre Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 2 and 3. For the past 30 years, Kingwood Dance Theatre’s full-length production, with extensive sets and costumes, has brought the story of Clara and her Nutcracker Prince to life.
Lake Houston creates its own relief fund

In the more than two months since Hurricane Harvey devastated Lake Houston, the Lake Houston Area Relief Fund has distributed nearly $275,000 to 15 local businesses and 55 families.

Humble ISD begins Citizens Bond Advisory effort

The first Citizens Bond Advisory Committee meeting was held Oct. 19 at Humble High School. Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Fagen presented a future picture of the district to the 114 citizens in attendance.
Deputy Superintendent Dr. Roger Brown reviewed district accomplishments regarding how the 2008 bond funds were spent.
Every day at noon, school building changes its name

Every weekday, the massive school building just off Beltway 8 at West Lake Houston Parkway near Lockwood Road transforms itself.
“At noon, 2,300 Summer Creek students leave the building and 2,700 Kingwood students enter,” said Kingwood High School Principal Ted Landry.
