The final day of Humble ISD school board early voting saw 517 votes cast; 16 votes, or 3 percent, less than 2105.  The total vote for early voting was 3241, 1091, or 51 percent, more than 2015.  If voters maintain the same margin on Election Day, the final total should be 5400 votes.

Numbers, numbers, numbers. Amid the bustling growth and strive for excellence in Humble ISD there are lots of numbers: how many new schools are needed, how many homes are being built, how many athletic champions or National Merit Scholars the district has.

School board races are supposed to be nonpartisan. Not the case in Humble ISD. Two weeks after the Feb. 17 filing deadline for the school board trustee election, party politics began on March 2 when the Kingwood Tea Party invited Angela Conrad and Keith Lapeze to speak.

A deputy sheriff. A CEO. A Ph.D. ocean engineer. A former educator. An emergency room doctor. A civil engineer. Meet the candidates for the Humble ISD Board of Trustees Position 5, who cite a wide variety of topics like debt, school safety and Title I schools as issues important to this upcoming election.

More than 1,000 handmade bowls will be on sale for $10 each in the Summer Creek High School cafeteria Saturday, May 6 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Proceeds from the sale of the “Empty Bowls” will benefit Humble Area Assistance Ministries (HAAM).  

At its April 24 meeting, the Huffman ISD Board of Trustees approved the zoning boundaries once the district’s second school is completed.
