The Board of Directors and staff of the East Montgomery County Improvement District were shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Dale Martin, Vice Chairman of the Board, Sunday morning. Dale’s dedication to his community was obvious in everything he did.
Dale was first elected to the EMCID Board of Directors in 2012 and was re-elected in 2016. He was an outspoken leader when it came to bettering East Montgomery County through economic development; there was never any question where he stood on an issue, a project, or goals. He believed in carefully and thoughtfully establishing long-range objectives for the community that would benefit the residents, businesses and organizations for years to come.
As a teacher and administrator for the last two decades at Splendora ISD and a member of the Board of the East Montgomery County Scholarship Foundation, Dale’s passion for education and opportunities for youth was profound. He advocated for scholarships, workforce training, and youth sports. If an idea or project would benefit children, you could count on his support.
Dale Martin was a good man and a good friend. His humor kept us smiling. His laughter was infectious. Our prayers go out to his wife Trista, his daughters Michaela and Olivia, and his son Dale Edward. Thank you for sharing him with us. We will miss him greatly.
