The Harris County Fire Marshal's Office (HCFMO) encourages everyone to practice fireworks safety and best practices for preventing the spread of COVID-19.

"HCFMO fireworks task force has been inspecting fireworks stand and stores, and will continue to be out in the community through the Fourth of July holiday. Along with checking for fire safety and permits, the task force will ensure stand and store owners are complying with the Harris County Mask Order. All stand employees and consumers purchasing fireworks must wear a face covering and practicing social distancing. It is our goal to keep the community as safe as possible during this fireworks season and a pandemic. Along with wearing facial coverings and practice social distancing, I also encourage those who are going to use consumer fireworks to please read the cautionary labels and use fireworks appropriately. The last thing we want to see are firework injuries compounding our healthcare provides who are already dealing with COVID-19. Be safe Harris County. We want you to wash your hands, not risk losing them in a fireworks-related incident."
