The official groundbreaking of Fountainwood, a new senior living community in Atascocita.


MedCore Partners and The National Realty Group recently broke ground on the construction of Fountainwood at Lake Houston, a 190-unit, first-class senior living community which will be located near the northeast corner of W. Lake Houston Pkwy. and Will Clayton Pkwy. Situated just off the shores of Lake Houston and offering premiere senior living services to the greater northeast Houston area, Fountainwood at Lake Houston will offer 98 independent-living, 68 assisted-living, and 24 memory-care units. Fountainwood will open for business in late summer 2020. Fountainwood will offer numerous amenities including valet services, fine dining, bistro, bar and entertainment areas, a salon and spa, multiple activity venues, a state-of-the-art fitness center, club rooms, theater, meditation garden and interconnected courtyard pool with al fresco dining. In just a few short weeks, school will be out for the summer. During that time, students can enjoy free rides on METRO all summer long. That’s right. The Summer of Fun program is back. Students from Kindergarten through college can ride free on all METRO light-rail, local bus and Park and Ride services from June 1 through Aug. 31. Free transit means area students can experience more mobility, big savings and less stress. Students can take a ride to the Houston Zoo, head downtown and see a weekend show at the new Kinder High School for Performing and Visual Arts, or grab a ride to their summer jobs. Summer Creek BizCom will be Thursday, June 6, at 11 a.m. at Summer Creek High School. It will feature a blend of businesses, community members and school officials coming together to address specific needs and issues of the Summer Creek community.
