P.E.O. Chapter GQ is pleased to announce the recipients of the Project for Continuing Education Scholarships, Amanda Wiggins, with a respiratory care therapy major, and Ruthi McDonald, studying to be a dental hygienist. Both are students at Lone Star College-Kingwood. The P.E.O. Sisterhood, founded Jan. 21, 1869 at Iowa Wesleyan College, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, is a philanthropic and educational organization interested in bringing to women increased opportunities for higher education. There are approximately 6,000 local chapters in the United States and Canada with nearly a quarter of a million active members. Chapter GQ was organized in Humble in 1985. At a luncheon in the home of Karen McConnell Dec. 12, Wiggins and McDonald received their awards.
