As a whole, we have a wonderful school district with high achieving students, hard-working teachers, and a huge pool of parent volunteers, who, collectively, donate countless hours of their time every year. The impact our good school district has on everyone in our community should be self-evident, whether you have a child in the district or not. Our school board oversees an operating budget of more than $230 million dollars, and the value of everyone’s home and property taxes is directly impacted by the school district. Consequently, it is important who holds the responsibility over the budget and policy in Humble ISD It is important whom you elect to the school board. It is also important that we keep Humble ISD on its current course, where test scores are improving and students are excelling, while the administration and school board manages a financial maze made incredibly difficult by inequitable state funding and our community’s fast growth. A strong, quality school district requires a strong, quality school board, superintendent, and administration. Right now, we have all three. We should keep this team in place. Please learn about the candidates—their backgrounds and whether they are ready for the challenges ahead—and the issues facing the district. Then go out and vote. Early voting begins on April 27, and Election Day is May. Keith Lapeze Incumbent Candidate for Humble I.S.D. Trustee, Position 2.
