Harris County firefighters battled a three-alarm fire Sunday, Feb. 26, that damaged three homes in Atascocita. The incident was reported at 2:15 p.m. in the 6000 block of Ancient Oaks Drive. Officials said the fire started in the garage of one home and spread to two other houses due to the wind.

 On Feb. 26, Atascocita Volunteer Fire Department requested Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office investigators to assist with a fire in the 6000 block of Ancient Oaks Dr. in Atascocita. Investigators determined the fire was caused by a 110V vehicle battery charger and ruled accidental. “The fire originated in a detached garage, resulting in fire damage to the garage, house, three cars, and a neighbor’s home,” said Public Information Officer Rachel Moreno. “There were no injuries reported.” The Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office Investigations Division is responsible for fire, arson and explosion investigations in unincorporated Harris County.
