Students hope hard work pays off at livestock show.

Carsten Cherrington, a senior at Kingwood Park High School, has been showing animals since she was in the fifth grade. She is looking forward to her last show with Kobe the Charolais, and hopes to win Grand Champion in the steer category.

Michael Williams is excited to show Shadow – too busy eating to pose for a photo – at next week’s Humble Livestock Show. Williams is a ninth-grade football player at Kingwood Park, and this will be the first year he is participating in the show.

Dolly, the lamb, likes to hop like a bunny when she runs for exercise. Her owner, Camie Jones, is a senior at Kingwood High School and has shown a rabbit, chickens and a goat while in high school. Best of luck to finishing up with a win!  Photos by Sarah Mertins
