The Kingwood Photo Club, otherwise known as The Lake Houston Area Photographers Club, is offering comfort in these uncertain times of quarantine by giving back to the community.

That is, members of this club are offering to take a photograph of your family on the front steps of your home. The best news is that they are doing this service for Kingwood villages free through a project called the Front Steps Project.

In fact, photographers from all over the country are working hard to capture family moments such as these that will last a lifetime while adhering to all social distancing measures. These local times are unprecedented in the wake of COVID-19.

Photos that are captured are meant to capture what is ‘right’ with the world, instead of all the negativity often found in the media and online. Sometimes during quarantine, families are forced to be creative. So families are asked to be creative with their photographic idea and a local photographer will capture the memory once scheduled online.

The Kingwood Photo Club seeks to show the faces of the area and bring local citizens closer together, even if we have a need to still remain at least 6 feet apart from one another.

To schedule your session, go to kwphotoclub.com/new/front-door-project to see available times. During each photo session, your photographer will stay in their vehicle or stay at the curb while photographing your personalized, historical moment. After your photographic session, digital images will be sent two to three days post-session. If you have questions, be sure to contact This email address is being protected from spambots. All images are offered free of charge, but all families or individuals are asked to donate much-needed food or funds to the Houston Food Bank. For ways or means to donate to this worthy organization, see houstonfoodbank.org.

“The Tribune is very pleased to partner with the Kingwood Photography Club to showcase not only the wonderful community, but the outstanding talents of the club members. We are devoting special space on our website, OurTribune.com, to house their work. We hope everyone enjoys it,” said Cynthia Calvert, publisher of the Tribune Newspapers.
