HPD patrol officers responded to a call from Houston Fire Department paramedics regarding a deceased child with possible abuse injuries. The child suffered blunt force trauma and was transported to HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
A preliminary investigation indicated the child had suffered injuries consistent with physical abuse and the father's girlfriend (Davis) had assaulted the child and attempted to conceal evidence at the scene. Davis was arrested and subsequently charged for her role in the child's death.
Charges may be upgraded, pending the results of the autopsy.
