Independence Day celebrations are fewer this year, with COVID-19 still taking a toll on normalcy, and the Kingwood parade will definitely be missed, but Lake Houston residents will still find plenty of things to do in celebration.
The Clubs of Kingwood, 1700 Lake Kingwood Trail, Kingwood, invites the public to one of its biggest and best traditions Saturday, July 3, at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy live music by Brandon Smith and the Goodfellas along with chipping and putting contests, a bounce house and other inflatables, face painting, games and more. Stay for the fireworks show. Cost is $10 per person. No outside food or beverages, please.
Grab your lawn chairs and blankets and come over Sunday, July 4, at 7 p.m., to Kings Harbor, 4501 Magnolia Cove Drive, Kingwood. The Shotgun Road Band will kick off the festivities with a concert featuring favorite country rock covers, followed by a fireworks spectacular off the pier at 9:30 p.m. Parking may be limited so carpooling and ride-sharing are encouraged.
