Helen Williams Barta, born April 21, 1919, entered into the arms of her loving savior on March 3, 2009. She was preceded in death by son, Wallace Barta, Jr. and is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Wallace; daughters Pam Runnels and husband Kenneth of Fayetteville, AR, Jennifer Chandler and husband Paul of Kingwood, TX; sons Robert Young and wife Ginger of Kingwood, TX, and Preston Wooten and wife Cheryl of Stuttgart, Germany. Helen is also survived by 11 grandchildren:Shelley Duchesne, Tracey Runnels, Karey and husband Steve Lookadoo, Darla Fincher, Mandy and husband Shea Taylor, Katie and husband John McBroom, Nolan Wooten, Brandon Ragin, Chris Patsis, Matt Patsis, and Austin Chandler; numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends. Helen was born to Ernest Williams and Lonni Spears of the Spears Dairy in Houston which was later sold to Carnation and Borden's. Helen graduated from Aldine High School in 1936. She was an avid member of Bethel Baptist Church of Houston where she taught Sunday School and was active in Women's Missionary Union for many years. Later, Helen became a member of Berachah Church in Houston. Her main love was studying the Word of God. Throughout her life she touched the lives of many and mirrored the image of Christ. 2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2009, at Rosewood Funeral Home, Humble, with a funeral service that was held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2009, in the chapel,. Interment followed at Rosewood Memorial Park. The family would like to give a special thanks to Hermann Memorial Hospice Staff and volunteers and her friend and caregiver Mrs. Patsy Garcia.
