Estel Dale Cook was born October 7, 1946 in Athens, West Virginia to the late Ruby Garnet (Mullins) and Moody Camden Cook and died on Friday, September 25, 2020, at home peacefully surrounded by his family. He was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend. He was generous and kind, with a contagious smile, and he will be missed greatly.
Estel grew up in Pineville, WV. He broke into computer programming early, writing programs on punch cards. He loved model trains and could often be found reconfiguring track layouts in the garage. He was always up for a good movie or a game of dominos. He enjoyed traveling, particularly cruises. One highlight included a six-week cruise from Galveston, TX to Singapore, with stops in Egypt, Dubai and Malaysia along the way. He loved spending summer afternoons in his swimming pool.
