She was honored by being selected Teacher of the Year (1993-1994) at Timbers Elementary School. She was also one of the five finalists for Teacher of the Year (1993-1994) for the Humble Independent School District. She continued teaching at Timbers Elementary School until her retirement in 2009 after which she continued to teach as a substitute teacher for 11 more years.
She made many lifelong friends during her career. Linda was a member of A Course in Miracle (ACIM) and made many lasting friendships.
