KINGWOOD, TX — A 17-year-old Porter High School student was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with murder in the slaying of a 14-year-old Kingwood teen Monday night.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, along with a precautionary SWAT team, executed a search warrant Wednesday on Knights Tower Drive in Kingwood and arrested Brian Smith Jr., according to authorities.

The 14-year-old also was a Porter student, and the two knew each other and could be considered "friends," Montgomery County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Scott Spencer said in a news conference.
