Tom Broad, director of marketing and development at Memorial Hermann Northeast, answers some questions that have been in the minds of many since Northeast Medical Center Hospital became Memorial Hermann Northeast. Q Can I expect to receive the same services at Memorial Hermann Northeast as before? Yes. And now, as part of Memorial Hermann family, Memorial Hermann Northeast will have access to some of the best innovations and resources in the nation. Memorial Hermann is a recognized leader in heart and vascular disease, neurosciences, sports medicine, cancer, and women's and children's services, among others. Now, residents of Northeast Harris and East Montgomery counties will have convenient access to the best that Memorial Hermann has to offer. Q Will Memorial Hermann Northeast continue to accept my insurance as well as Medicare and Medicaid? Yes, Northeast continues to accept Medicare and Medicaid and now, as a member of Memorial Hermann, we accept a broader range of health care plans. To find out which plans are accepted, call our 713-222-CARE (2273) Call Center or check our Web site at Q Will the medical staff remain the same? Yes, anyone who was a member of the medical staff remains on the Memorial Hermann Northeast medical staff. Q If I usually receive treatment at Northeast, will I now be sent to another Memorial Hermann hospital? No, whether you arrive at Memorial Hermann Northeast for a scheduled procedure or because of an emergency, you will continue to receive the expertise and attention that you have come to expect from us. If your medical care team determines that you or your loved one requires a higher level of care that we cannot provide, transfer options will be available to one of the Memorial Hermann hospitals that can provide that higher level of care. Q Will the Northeast Hospital Board of Authority still be involved in the decision-making process? Yes, the Board of Authority, which is made up of members of our community appointed by the Humble City Council, and Memorial Hermann will continue to partner together in the strategic direction for Northeast. Memorial Hermann will provide additional strategic planning and operational expertise. Q Will the Foundation continue to function and raise money? Yes, just like the Board of Authority, the Northeast Hospital Foundation will continue to provide support to Memorial Hermann Northeast. In addition, two individuals from Memorial Hermann will bring their unique perspective from the Memorial Hermann Foundation by joining the board of the Northeast Hospital Foundation.
