As many adults are contemplating their resolutions for the coming new year, fourth-grade students at North Belt Elementary School offered to share some of their own. My new year's resolution is to do all my work, pass my TAKS test and pay attention. -- Lorenzo Santos My new year's resolution is to help my grandma more often. I will clean her bathroom, kitchen, and shelves. That is a promise. -- Xavier Twyman In the new year I want to get better grades in school. I want to help my mother with the baby. I want to cut the yard so I can buy clothes and stuff for my family. -- Erik Cedillo My resolution for the new year is to eat healthier foods so I can be healthy. I want to have a lot of money so I can help people in the streets. And I want to run faster so I could reach 15 or 20 miles. -- Maria Arteaga My new year's resolution is to help my old grandma with whatever she needs. -- Jonathon Hernandez This year I want to eat healthier foods so I can have more energy. And also this year I don't want to be such a scaredy cat so I can play with my sisters and cousins. For my last resolution I want to get better grades so I can pass the fourth grade. -- Jackelin Tello My new year's resolution is to keep practicing on my reading skills! -- Christopher Rodriguez My new year's resolution is to get better at writing and paying attention to my teacher, not to be mean to my family, and especially not getting mad a lot. -- Vanessa Perez I want to learn how to be a ballerina so I can dance in my house like a ballerina and on the stage. I want to learn to knit so I can be like my grandmother. -- Natalie Valdes I couldn't think of a new year's resolution, but then I thought of my family. So, my New Year's resolution is to think more on the positive side than the negative side, thinking of a better day than a stormy day. I love my family. -- Gabriella Vallejo I want to eat vegetables because it's good for my health. I want to change the city so all the homeless people can have a place to live or to take all the bad people away so they won't rob people. -- Cesar Ramirez My New Year's resolution is to eat less candy because it is too sweet. I get a sugar rush when I eat too much Hershey's chocolate. -- Edith Vollmer Eat more vegetables because if I eat too much junk food, my stomach gets sick. I want to donate food to the homeless. -- Anibal Alanis-Ortis
