The Huffman Hargrave football team is preparing for the 2019 season using momentum from the program's first playoff victory in seven seasons to build on. The Falcons open the 2019 season at Liberty on Friday, Aug. 30, in a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.

  After dropping the first two matches of the Kingwood Tournament on Thursday, the Lady Mustangs rallied for a grueling 3-2 (25-27, 25-18, 25-22, 26-28, 18-16) victory over defending Class 5A State Champions Kingwood Park at home on Friday.

  After splitting 10 matches to start the season during the week of Aug. 10, including nine matches at the John Turner Classic, the Kingwood Park Lady Panthers volleyball team returned home for a pair of matches.

Kingwood High School and Conroe High School will participate in scrimmages Thursday, August 22, with all proceeds being donated to the THSCEF Benevolence Fund. This day is known as “Our Day To Shine”.

Eight-year-old Atascocita resident, Hunter Newkirk, recently earned a fifth-place medal in the long jump at the AAU Junior Olympics held July 24-Aug. 3 in Greensboro, N.C.

The Atascocita Lady Eagles opened volleyball season with a five-set victory over Cypress Park and then won three of eight matches in the prestigious Adidas John Turner Classic in Pearland.
