Barry Campbell made it official on Friday, Jan. 31. After eight seasons as head football coach and athletic coordinator at Kingwood High School, he is stepping down to join the football staff at Belton High School.

The 11th Annual Humble ISD Golf Classic will be held Monday, Feb. 17, at The Clubs of Kingwood. The golf tournament and fundraiser supports the golf programs at Atascocita, Kingwood, Kingwood Park and Summer Creek High Schools. The event is needed to offset the costs of tournament fees, travel and hosting expenses for the 200 student golfers in the district.

Very soon, disabled students throughout Humble ISD will get to participate in new events beginning this year.
The first event is the Integrated Athletics Middle School track meet, which will be held in early March at Turner Stadium in Humble, March 3 to be exact. March 4 will be the high school track meet.

Atascocita: The Lady Eagles blanked Sam Rayburn, 9-0, on Friday in a District 22-6A soccer match at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Pasadena.

The Kingwood Mustangs boys basketball team earned a pair of District 22-6A victories last week to keep pace in the hotly contested playoff race. The Mustangs opened the week with a 51-31 victory over South Houston on the road. Walker Blaine led a balanced attack with 15 points.

Summer Creek High School’s softball team is starting their new season off on a high note as sophomore Jeralsilca “Jay” Albiter was chosen for the USA Elite Select 30 High School All-American Team.
