The 2019 football season came to an end for the Kingwood Mustangs on Friday. In a Region III-6A Division II bi-district playoff game played at Beaumont Memorial Stadium, it was the West Brook Bruins that proved to have the upper hand in a 55-21 final.

Coming into the 2019 Texas high school football season, the Humble Wildcats hadn’t been to the playoffs in eight years and hadn’t won a Texas high school playoff game in nine.

Humble - Dexter Wyble threw two touchdown passes to Robert Williams and Dontee’ McCrary added a touchdown run to lift Humble to a 24-14 victory over C.E. King in a Region III-6A Division II bi-district playoff game at Turner Stadium.

The Lady Mustangs swept North Shore High School 3-0 in a bi-district playoff match at Atascocita High School, Tuesday, Nov. 5. Senior outside hitter Breanna Burrell and junior middle block Megan Wilson dominated at the net with 13 and 10 kills, respectively.

Following a regular season which saw two area schools win a district title and one school go undefeated, the area teams will now prepare to compete in Texas high school football’s second season.

The Eagles completed an undefeated District 22-6A season with a 42-7 victory over Humble on Friday at Turner Stadium. Quarterback Brice Matthews threw for 282 yards, including touchdown passes of 62 and 34 yards to Dylan Robinson, who caught four passes for 133 yards.
