In the Class 6A Division II bracket, the Humble Wildcats saw a magical season come to an end as they fell to Katy Taylor 35-14 in their third-round matchup.

After dropping the season opener, the Kingwood boys’ basketball team recently reeled off three consecutive victories, including a pair of wins heading into last week’s tournament in Arlington.

Kingwood: After dropping a pair of two-point games this season, the Kingwood girls’ basketball team found a way to turn that around last week, holding off Crosby, 39-38, to improve to 2-8 for the season.

On the Saturday after Thanksgiving at NRG Stadium, two schools from Humble ISD, an old face to the playoffs and a new face, will meet two different Katy-area schools with the hope of moving within one game of the state tournament.

Kingwood High School girls ran in a sunny UIL Texas State 6A Cross Country Championship meet Saturday, Nov. 9 in Round Rock. The Mustangs were a part of a 16-team field at Old Settler’s Park that included the top 6A teams and individuals in the state. 

It was standing room only as friends, family and fellow students gathered together Wednesday morning, Nov. 13 at the Bender Performing Arts Center in Humble to watch 30 student-athletes officially sign letters of intent to play with their selected colleges and universities.
