In 10 of the last 11 Huffman-Hargrave Falcons football seasons, the Falcons have made the playoffs. But the one goal that has eluded them for a number of years was a district championship.

Kingwood High School varsity boys and girls cross country ran in the UIL Region III 6-A Championship meet Monday, Oct. 28 in Huntsville. The Mustangs competed in a 24-team field on a tough, dry course at Kate Barr Ross Memorial Park.

The Kingwood Mustangs closed the 2019 regular season with a 31-21 loss to Humble on Friday at Turner Stadium. The Mustangs, 5-5 for the season and 5-3 in District 22-6A play, have a bye this week in preparation for the playoffs.

This past Friday night at Pasadena Veterans Memorial Stadium, the Atascocita Eagles, whose only loss came against Katy, took on the undefeated Dobie Longhorns in a game that amounted to being the 22-6A district championship game.

Kingwood High School cross country competed in a chilly District 22-6A meet Thursday, Oct. 17 at Atascocita High School. It was a good showing for KHS runners at all levels.
