Aaron Finch, who capped the scoring in the fourth quarter with a 2-yard touchdown run, led the charges on defense as well. The senior recorded a team-high eight tackles, four behind the line of scrimmage, and recovered a fumble.
Junior Matthew Wheatley handed in five tackles, and senior Morgan Wilkerson added a sack.
Slayton got things started in the first quarter with a 57-yard touchdown pass to Blake Herrera. Romasko ignited the second-quarter fireworks with a 48-yard touchdown dash. Slayton added another scoring pass and finished the rally with a 12-yard scamper to the end zone.
Senior kicker Charles Sheppard tacked on a 27-yard field goal in the third quarter.
The Mustangs, now 1-3 overall and 1-1 in District 21-6A play, look to keep the momentum going when they travel for the second week in a row. Kingwood visits Channelview to face the Falcons for a Friday 7 p.m. district game at Maddry Stadium.
