Jasper, Canada - Prepare to venture beyond to the cosmos at the 7th annual Jasper Dark Sky Festival Presented by Rocky Mountaineer from October 13-22, 2017.
The first weekend of the festival is a Music Under the Stars concert series. With signature events like Symphony Under the Stars, stargazers and music lovers alike are invited to take in the ethereal sounds of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. Bundle up under the Milky Way at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge on Saturday October 14th.
The second weekend of the festival is to satisfy the curious interstellar wonderer with space and science presentations at the base terminal at the Jasper SkyTram. Shuttles will be provided for ticket holders to whisk them up to join world-renowned physicist and rock star scientist Brian Cox and the Bad Astronomer Phil Plait as they tackle some of the hottest topics in the universe on Friday, October 20th. This dynamic duo teams up to captivate, entertain and educate their audience with the title presentation: Bring Deep Space Down to Earth. The shuttles continue on Saturday, October 21st, bringing ticket holders to revel as the great minds of Bob McDonald, Natalie Panek, and Rob Thacker join together for SPACEtalks: To the Moon, Mars, and Beyond: The Future of Space Exploration.
Signature events like Beyond the Stars at Lake Annette, the Big Bang Expo Presented by TELUS World of Science – Edmonton, and stargazing with the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) – Edmonton Centre will be taking place throughout the second weekend.
